A CONTEMPORARY PROTOTYPE FOR BOOKMAKING: IN THE AGE OF... LED BY REM KOOLHAAS, IRMA BOOM, AND PHILLIP DENNY. THE METAL BOOK IS MADE IN RESPONSE TO STUDIES OF HISTORIC CHINESE AND JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINTING. BOOK MAKING WAS A TEAM-TAUGHT,PROJECT-BASED SEMINAR CHARTING NEW TRAJECTORIES FOR THE FUTURE OF THE BOOK, TAKING THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING A BOOK AS A SITE FOR CRITICAL INTERVENTION AND DESIGN EXPERIMENTATION.
